I haven’t watched the interview yet. But one of the reasons i like even the most corniest telugu films is because of him. The way he uses strings and instrumentation, even in the most melodramatic scenes, just elevates the scene and the movie to the next level.
I still search for some of the climax scenes in the movies that he has given BGM to, just to enjoy the atmosphere that he has created with his music. The long monologues and corny unnatural dialogues are given some sort of heft and otherworldliness because of his music.
He truly understands the kitsch masala genre and sticks to it 100 percent . Unlike in bollywood, where the filmmakers and musicians are so confused as to whether they want to go cent percent kitsch and bollywood or if they want to show off the western international music that they have plagiarized.
