“The Bear” star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is detailing why Mark Ruffalo is the GOAT. Moss-Bachrach makes his MCU debut in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” as Ben Grimm, AKA the Thing. Ruffalo, who has been a staple in the MCU for more than a decade, is well-versed in working with motion capture technology for the superhero films.
Moss-Bachrach said during the “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” press tour in the below video that Ruffalo reached out to assure him that it would be no big deal to transform into the rock-ridden character.
“I got a really nice, very long, thorough text from Mark Ruffalo. My character is performance capture and I was a little anxious about that,” Moss-Bachrach said. “Somehow he got wind of my insecurity. He was really generous.”
Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn star as the eponymous heroic family at the center of the film, alongside Moss-Bachrach.
And Moss-Bachrach isn’t the only franchise star who has been dealt advice from a predecessor. Scarlett Johansson (who also is an MCU alum as Black Widow and was an Avenger alongside Ruffalo’s Hulk, with whom her character also had a relationship) recently told People that after she was cast in “Jurassic World Rebirth,” the “Jurassic World” actress Bryce Dallas Howard shared her support.
“When I first got cast, Bryce Dallas Howard reached out to me and was so excited,” Johansson said. “She wrote me a whole long email about her experience and how wonderful the fans were and how that was part of the excitement, joining the ‘Jurassic’ family and having these fans for life.”
Johansson has previously voiced that it was one of her career goals to join the franchise for years. Meanwhile, Howard starred in “Jurassic World” (2015), “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” (2018), and “Jurassic World Dominion” (2022).
“For myself as a fan, I am so excited for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth.’ I’m going to be there in the theater opening day, and they have an amazing cast,” Howard also told ScreenRant. “I mean, Mahershala Ali, Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey. It’s going to be absolutely fantastic. I’m excited. And then maybe in 20 years or something like that, if they ever asked, of course, I would be back in a heartbeat.”
