“By the end it’s a dark, twisted voyage through hell.” Now available to stream if you need some extra “heat” this summer. 🔥 Apple TV has unveiled a promo featurette for their fire series called Smoke, inspired by the “Firebug” podcast about a real arsonist. This new original psychological thriller series is created by the acclaimed author Dennis Lehane, whose best-selling crime thriller mystery books (“Mystic River”, “Gone Baby Gone”, “Shutter Island”) everyone is familiar with already. The series just started streaming recently – this latest promo featurette is to help build more buzz for it. Inspired by true events, and set in the Pacific Northwest, Smoke follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator as they both pursue the trails of two serial arsonists. Taron Egerton (as arson investigator Dave Gudsen) and Jurnee Smollett (as Det. Michell Calderon) attempt to get as close to the truth as possible—without getting burned. The full series cast also includes John Leguizamo, Rafe Spall, Greg Kinnear, Ntare Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Anna Chlumsky. It looks quite good! An intense series about arson and dysfunctional people.
