Joining Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe, Paired with Manushi Chillar?

After redefining rom-coms and quirky family dramas, Maddock Films, the banner behind successful horror comedies like Stree, Munjya, and Bhediya, is gearing up to take its popular genre universe to the next level. If industry chatter is to be believed, Ranveer Singh might soon join the studio’s spooky comedy lineup, promising to inject fresh star power into the franchise.

Ranveer Singh to Join Maddock Horror Universe?

According to a source quoted by a leading publication, discussions between Ranveer Singh and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films are already underway. “Ranveer has been in conversations with Dinesh for a while. He was at the Maddock office last week. The makers wanted a fresh energy to drive the next chapter, and Ranveer is keen to explore the genre. The paperwork is likely to be completed soon,” the source shared.

The report suggests the makers are eyeing a grand, interconnected storyline akin to Marvel’s Avengers, but rooted in their horror-comedy world. “The idea is to create an Avengers-style culmination down the road. They are talking dates as Ranveer will wrap up Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar soon. He has allotted some dates to Don 3 as well. This project is expected to roll in early 2026,” the source added.

Thama and the Expanding Maddock Horror‑Comedy Universe

Maddock Films has consistently found success with horror comedies, a genre that has gained mainstream appeal in Bollywood thanks to films like Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2024) amd Stree 2 (2024). The studio had announced ambitious crossover uniting characters from these films.

Maddock Films has its sights firmly set on Thama, the fifth installment in its popular horror‑comedy universe. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film features Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Described by Khurrana as a “supremely unique horror‑comedy love story,” Thama blends vampire lore with romance, marking a fresh romantic take on the spooky genre. The film is slated for an October–December 2025 release, likely timed around Diwali for maximum box office impact.

It joins a line-up of future universe entries. Following Thama, Maddock will release Shakti Shalini starring Kiara Advani, reportedly delayed due to her pregnancy and later Bhediya 2 with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, expected around August 2026.

Ranveer Singh’s Upcoming Projects

Ranveer has a busy schedule ahead. He’s currently in the final leg of shooting Dhurandhar, an espionage thriller set in the 1970s–80s by Uri director Aditya Dhar. The teaser is expected on his birthday, July 6, and actor Akshaye Khanna has been confirmed as the antagonist, upping the stakes.

Following Dhurandhar, Ranveer gears up for Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, with principal photography slated for September 2025 alongside Vikrant Massey.
