“Turtle mania is back!” Fathom Events has unveiled an official trailer for the 35th Anniversary re-release of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, arriving in theaters again briefly this August. One of my personal all-time favorites! I grew up with this movie (and its sequel The Secret of the Ooze) in the 90s and it’s a fantastic. Way better than it should be. This upcoming celebration features never before seen footage with an intro from director Steve Barron. In the Turtles Unmasked featurette before the movie, produced in collaboration with the creators of TMNT: Evolution, Mutation & Reboot, experience never-before-seen footage from the archives, extended scenes left to history on the cutting room floor, home-recorded behind-the-scenes footage, and commentary with Barron as he reflects on the day-to-day in crafting the absolute best version of Turtles brought to the big screen. With a team of puppeteers and a voice cast led by Brian Tochi as Leonardo, Corey Feldman as Donatello, Josh Pais as Raphael, Robbie Rist as Michelangelo, and Kevin Clash as Splinter, the Turtles’ master. The film also features Judith Hoag and Elias Koteas. This movie rocks! One of the best big screen comic book adaptations ever. Go watch it again! Cowabunga! 🍕

“Legions of fans of the superhero movie and new audiences will delight in the shared theatrical experience of the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book adaptation starring Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael that caused a pop culture craze upon its 1990 premiere, and now offers longtime fans the chance to introduce their kids to the original movie that started it all, back on the big screen.”
Four teenage mutant ninja turtles emerge from the sewers to protect New York City from a masked gang of criminal ninjas. Turtlemania is back! Experience one of the biggest and most widely anticipated movie anniversary celebrations of the year with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – 35th Anniversary coming to theaters from Fathom Entertainment. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Irish-British filmmaker Steve Barron, his second feature film at the time just after marking Electric Dreams (1984) and before going on to make Coneheads (1993) and The Adventures of Pinocchio (1996), but he did not direct any of the sequels. The screenplay is written by Todd W. Langen and Bobby Herbeck. Based on the early Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics with characters created by Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird. Produced by David Chan, Kim Dawson, and Simon Fields. The movie originally opened in theaters in March 1990 and was a huge hit, earning a total of $135M at the box office that year and even more worldwide. Fathom Events will re-release this classic 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in theaters again for two nights only – on August 17th & 20th, 2025.
