Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files Kicks Off 10-City US Premiere Tour Ahead of September Release

Acclaimed filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, celebrated for unflinching narratives like The Tashkent Files and the record-breaking The Kashmir Files, is set to return with the final installment of his ‘Files’ trilogy: The Bengal Files. Promising to expose yet another dark and overlooked chapter of Indian history, the film has already ignited significant buzz.

10 Major US Premieres Announced

Building anticipation further, the makers have unveiled plans for 10 special premieres across key American cities. The tour starts July 19 in New Jersey and wraps up August 10 in Houston, covering major hubs such as Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Raleigh, Tampa, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Thanks to surging demand overseas, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has received multiple requests for international screenings, signaling the film’s expanding global resonance beyond Indian audiences.

The Bengal Files Teaser was Released Recently

The recently dropped teaser has captured widespread attention for its striking visuals and intense tone. While a provocative shot of Mahakali amid flames stirred some debate, the filmmakers have stressed that the content is deeply researched. The teaser’s standout line “If Kashmir hurt you, then Bengal will haunt you” has fueled intrigue and heightened expectations for the film’s theatrical release.

The Bengal Files is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. The cast features Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. Presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha, the film is slated to hit theatres on September 5, 2025.
